Joe Strummer’s Mural

A mural commemorating The Clash‘s Joe Strummer by Emma Harrison and Gary Loveridge – which was supposed to be permanent – was situated at the junction of Portobello Road and Blenheim Crescent between the 13th of June 2013 and…2017.

On inauguration day some live acoustic performances, the presence of Mick Jones and Ray Gange (from The Clash movie Rude Boy) made it really memorable, but unfortunately, the graffiti work was already in a bad state in the summer of 2015 and covered by scaffolding in 2016, so it’d not been available for long.

Address: 1 Blenheim Crescent, Notting Hill, London W11 2EE
