Dingwalls

Dingwalls Dancehall was launched as the newly developed Camden Lock’s flagship venue in the summer of 1973, hosted by one of many industrial Victorian buildings in the area of Camden Market.

It became a prominent and popular London live music venue in the Pub Rock and Punk era of the mid to late 1970s. For instance, here on the 5th July 1976, members of The Clash and the Sex Pistols saw The Ramones live for the first time!

Nevertheless, the booking policy was eclectic, and even US acts such as The Drifters and R.E.M. (in 1983) found some space. It has more recently hosted the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, and the Darkness, and still keeps on keepin’ on as a brilliant music venue in this part of town.

Address: Middle Yard, Camden Town, London NW1 8AB
