Some years ago this was a pub, The Alexandra.
Here The Kinks founders Ray and Dave Davies used to come and party in their youth. When the place faced demolition to make way for housing in 2012, the two brothers backed a local campaign to preserve it, stating that the music they listened to here and played at piano of the pub had influenced their band.
Although over 1500 local residents had signed a petition against the proposed change of use of the pub, eventually, even though the building has been preserved, it was converted to provide 2 x 3 bed single family dwellings.
