The Clash’s Album Cover

Within an iconic album cover!

In late 1976, The Clash shot the front cover of their debut album here in Camden.
It was taken in an alleyway by their recording studio – Rehearsals Rehearsals – which was in a rundown British Rail goods yard that’s now part of Camden Market. Much of the album, released in April 1977, was recorded in the venue.

To find it, walk inside the Stables Market and turn left, right in front of the Dr. Martens‘ shop, that now collects some punk memorabilia connected both to the brand, to punk rock (some boots signed by the likes of Siouxsie Sioux and The BuzzcocksPete Shelley) and to The Clash (donated by the Joe Strummer Foundation).

Address: The Stables Market, 26-27 Chalk Farm Road, London NW1 8AH
