In 1972 Bob Marley and The Wailers, already established in Jamaica but unknown to the rest of the world, lived here on a dead-ordinary suburban Neasden street. A blue plaque was unveiled at the venue in September 2012.

Clissold Arms
The Clissold Arms was the pub where the Davies brothers first performed in public. The place still has a cocktail lounge dedicated to The Kinks, with plenty of pics and memorabilia. Worth a visit!
Joe Meek’s RGM Records
Here at 304 Holloway Road Joe Meek wrote, recorded, and produced – with his backing band The Tornados – ‘Telstar’, the first single by a British group to hit number one in the United States (in 1962).
Wessex Sound Studios

Barfly/The Monarch
Prior to 2000, the Barfly/Camden Assembly had been known as The Monarch, a pub which had hosted live music gigs since the 80’s and during the 90’s became a regular venue for (mostly Britpop) bands, such as Oasis, Bloc Party, Coldplay to name but a few.
The Garage
Pulp was the first big name to play The Garage in May 1993. The Killers, Jack White, Mumford & Sons, Suede, Green Day, Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Oasis, to name a few, came in their wake over the years.

Pathway Studios
Among the artists who made their early recordings at Pathway Studios, with producer Nick Lowe, are The Damned (who recorded their debut single New Rose in September 1976), Madness, Elvis Costello (who debut album My Aim is True was recorded here), The Police, and the Dire Straits (whose demo and single versions of Sultans of Swing was recorded, again, here).
Benwell Mansions
Until the age of 11, John Lydon lived here on Benwell Road where once stood Benwell Mansions that Lydon has described as “a damp, smelly Victorian monstrosity of a building.”
